Creative Walks: Personifying nature through writing

Culture in Common

Overview

Creative Walks are a series of walks throughout the New Forest aimed at connecting people to nature and each other through creative activities including photography, sketching, creative writing, outdoor dance and much more! Join us for a unique Creative Walk where the landscape becomes your co-writer. This special event invites you to connect deeply with the natural world, using embodied awareness and imaginative writing techniques to bring nature to life on the page. As we walk, we will practice tuning into our senses. Through a series of gentle prompts, you’ll explore what it means to loosen control and write from the perspective of something “other”: a leaf, a river, a gust of wind. We’ll encourage a spirit of childlike curiosity and wonder, allowing unexpected stories and voices to emerge. Whether you are an experienced writer or simply looking for a creative reset, this walk offers a chance to rediscover the world, and your writing with fresh eyes. We will also stop for a hot drink (included in the price) at Holmsley Tearooms.
