Meet at 1.45 for a 2 pm start at Ilam National Trust car park, DE6 2AZ
Distance: 2.5 miles, 2 hours
The walk: Footpaths, farm tracks and quiet lanes without pavement. Some areas prone to mud and uneven walking.
A session that will help you understand just how beneficial Nordic Walking can be and how it is far more than just walking with poles! This Introductory session will give you an insight into how the poles can propel you along and work the whole body.
Find out how to use fitness walking poles to achieve the results YOU want. And it will help you how to select the right kind of poles and use them for health, fitness, fun or challenges.
Poles provided, there is a choice of strapless or strapped Nordic Walking poles.
After the taster we walk around Ilam Park using the poles and the Nordic Walking technique. This gentle walk will be approximate 2 miles with a total ascent of 190ft.
Don't forget to wear suitable shoes and clothing for all weathers and bring a drink/snack.
