Overview

Boccia is similar to bowling but played indoors with 6 red balls, 6 blue balls and one white called the jack. The aim of the game basically is to get your balls nearer the white. Boccia can be a game played for leisure although it is also a Paralympic game. Bolton Boccia is affiliated to Boccia England who provide competitions up and down the country and are currently running taster sessions. Bolton Boccia Club is affiliated to Boccia England the governing body for Boccia. Bolton Boccia Club welcome keen members over 18+ with a physical disability at Horwich Leisure Centre, Victoria Road, Horwich, Bolton BL6 5PY When: Friday 14.30-15.30 with the first session free and subsequent sessions £5.00. Boccia sessions are run by a qualified Boccia Coach, Referee with Safeguarding and DBS certificates. Boccia is the only fully accessible sport for the disabled, so why not come and try your hand at Boccia, whilst making new friends and learning a new sport. We would love to see you and who knows if you wish to pursue the sport seriously, you could be playing for England, yes Boccia is a paralympic sport, so hopefully we will see you soon :).

Accessibility Information:

Horwich Leisure Centre has free disabled parking for disabled badge users, front entrance step free, accessible toilets and toilet changing place. Access to the sports hall is via a lift to the lower floor of the building which is on street level of which evacuation if needed is from the fire doors at the side of the hall.
