RISE UP Intensive : Walkovers to Handsprings Tumbling Workshop

Overview

This intensive tumbling workshop is for those athletes aged 5+ who are working on their gymnastic skills including walkovers, round-off, back handsprings, front handsprings and aerials. This workshop is an open Tumbling Intensive with UK Tumbling Collective. This is a coached session, focused on drills, body shaping and improving technique. This tumbling workshop is open to everyone. This is an novice level workshop, aimed at those currently working towards beginner skills such as walkovers, and working on their front and back handsprings (in-line with Levels 1-2 IASF). Suitable for dancers, cheerleaders, gymnasts and acrobats working at this level. There are no pre-requisite skills but some tumbling/cheer/gymnastics experience is advised, as this will be a fast-paced class within a busy gym. Athletes will warm-up together and then work in groups at various drill stations based on their skill level. The session will include a dynamic warm-up, conditioning drills, body shaping and control-based equipment stations, standing tumbling stations and open free tumbling time for running tumbling. Athletes will be able to focus on fundamental tumbling principles (power, shaping, strength) and also work on skills and connected passes at their own ability level. This is NOT an unstructured 'open-gym' session. Coaches will be on hand throughout to assist with feedback, spotting and progression tips.
