Why Focus on Balance & Falls Prevention? Falls are a significant health concern, particularly among older adults. One-third of individuals over 65 and half of those over 80 experience at least one fall annually (NHS.uk). In hospital settings, falls are the most frequently reported patient safety incidents, with over 240,000 occurrences reported annually in England and Wales (gov.uk). The consequences of falls can be severe: • 20% of hip fracture patients enter long-term care within a year of injury (gov.uk). • Falls are the leading cause of injury-related deaths among individuals over 65. • The NHS spends over £2 billion annually on falls-related care, accounting for more than 4 million bed days (gov.uk). That’s why Together Stronger is designed to specifically target balance training, coordination, and strength—helping you move with greater ease and security in everyday life.
