Well Run Brum

Overview

Join us for Well Run Brum - a movement bringing all abilities together to get men’s mental wellness on track through social running. These fortnightly free-to-access 5KM runs will provide social support at a conversational pace. Each run begins with a guest speaker, providing inspiration and motivation before setting off. Well Run Brum's conversational pacemaker for Run #28 is Ethan Akanni. Ethan Akanni has competed in both the 60m Hurdles and 110m Hurdles, representing both England and Great Britain and securing a bronze medal in the British Athletics Indoor Championships 60m hurdles in 2020. Along with his success on the track, Ethan is one of the founding members of the Athletics Pride Network. Hailing from Bexley, Ethan picked up athletics when he was 13-years-old - finding solace and escape in the sport in a time where he was starting to discover his sexuality. Since then, he has become a beacon of hope and inspiration to young athletes up and down the country by encouraging them to feel comfortable in their sexuality and celebrate being true to themselves in sport. Ethan is an assistant practitioner in MSK physiotherapy in the NHS.
