Birmingham Athletics Academy Weekly session

Birmingham Athletics Academy

Overview

We are a junior athletics academy, for ages 5-16 years old and our sessions run on a Wednesday evening 17:00 - 18:15 at the University of Birmingham Athletics Track. We currently work on a pay as you go system of £5/session per athlete which is payable by card on arrival and we have a registration form to be completed prior to the first session. We are fully inclusive of physical and intellectual disabilities, with our coaches having vast experience in working with para-athletes. We also have racing wheelchairs and seated throws equipment to accommodate any wheelchair bound athletes! Our athletes normally do 2-3 activities during a session which will be a mix of runs, jumps and throws to give as much variety as possible, with the exact rotations being based on numbers and on what skills we are working on week to week. We do encourage our athletes, especially our younger athletes, to try all of the disciplines, but we do let them gravitate to their favourites once they’ve given them all a try. Please check our social media pages for further information!
