New Age Kurling and Boccia

Healthy Hub North Herts

Overview

New age kurling is similar to bowls, but is traditionally played inside and uses a static target rather than a moving ball. This is a seated game and players are permitted to move the stones with their hands, feet, or using a ramp in the case of those with severe impairments. Boccia (pronounced bot-cha) is a Paralympic sport with no Olympic equivalent and is similar to bowls. This is also a seated game and is a target ball sport which tests both muscle control and accuracy. Although the session finishes at 11:30am, there is the option to stay until 12:30pm to play pool and socialise.
