Sit Stand Walk Talk
Wu Style Taiji and Qi Gong Assocation
Overview
Adapted Taiji programme that has been specifically designed to help older and more vulnerable residents within our community, particularly those with long-term and debilitating health conditions, many of whom experience social isolation and financial hardship. Each class is an hour long. In class you will learn a series of simple physical movements, breathing patterns and meditation practices. They are gentle and achievable, and can be done either sitting, standing or walking. The different movements and methods of practice impact beneficially on your physical and mental state. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes Taiji Quan (Tai Chi) and Qi Gong practices benefit all the functions of the body as well as improving body strength and mobility. In addition, the meditation and relaxation methods help you to keep a ‘clear’ mind and develop and maintain good cognitive awareness and emotional wellbeing. Classes have three major elements – standing and moving exercises, walking exercises, and seated exercise and meditation. We finish with a traditional self massage routine.Club features
