Description: Meeting at the Maritime Museum where there is a café and toilet facilities, we will warm up on the green, walk towards the Cutty Sark and join the Thames Path towards London. The route is flat apart from steps at some points when we have to follow the Thames Path away from the river and in towards the housing estates. The Thames Path is all on a concrete surface, you will need your paws unless you have balls attached already, the surface is slippery in some areas the cobbled areas were hard to walk on. Toilets are only available when we stop at the pub. Once we have finished at the pub we will continue our walk to Tower Bridge and cross over to walk back on the other side of the Thames. We have a walk of about 45 minutes from Tower Bridge to Canary Walk. There is 1 other meeting place if you do not wish to walk the whole route, walking from Greenwich will be approx. 1hr 30 and the walk from the pub into London is approx. 45 minutes:
The Clipper riverboat: The clipper runs from Greenwich and into London. The nearest stop for the pub is Surrey Quays, as you exit the boat once on Rotherhithe Road you will need to turn right, it is a 20 minute walk (please let Helen know if this is your option).
Return to Greenwich on the Clipper If you don’t want to walk back or if you want to finish at the pub you can pick up the Clipper to return to the Cutty Sark.
You may use your oyster card or contactless card (approx. £6.50) for the boat or purchase tickets at a higher cost prior to boarding (approx. £8.30). There is a freedom card discount.
Finishing Point at Canary Wharf: Here you may return to The Cutty Sark by Clipper or by public transport.
