Overview
A 6/7 mile walk from Quarry Car park in Kimmeridge across to Swyre Head and Sheep's Pen returning along the Coastal Path
Join Lucie for a moderate walk from the Quarry Car Park above Kimmeridge Bay. We will head up towards the ridge and walk along tracks and grassland towards Swyre Head and Heavens Gate with a loop around Sheeps Pen.
On the return we take the steep permissive path down to the coastal path and then walk back towards Kimmeridge past Clavels tower. Here we can drop into the car park for refreshments from the food van before we head back up the hill for the last mile to the Quarry Car Park.
This walk has a number of steep steps down that can be taken slowly. The path onto the ridge is rutted by tractors so can be muddy if there has been wet weather recently.
There are 3/4 stiles on the walk. Toilets at Kimmeridge on our return.
Please bring poles for stability on the steps and down hill, bring water and wear appropriate boots/shoes for hill walking in Autumn.
