Enjoy the huge open space of Salisbury Plain and the sound of the larks. Long gentle inclines on turf and hard tracks. The exact route will be defined by army maneuvers on the day but it will include a long gentle incline up the grassy training gallops. This incline is ideal to establish a good rhythm, it can be used to improve cardio fitness and or intervals. This walk is between 3 and 4 miles and therefore time may vary accordingly.
Gear 1 - A nice, easy and natural pace that you can do for extended periods with recovery periods where appropriate. Short hills might be introduced.
Gear 2 - A faster pace gained through technique. There will be less recovery time.
From Andover take the Marlborough and Devizes Road A342. Go through Ludgershall, stay on A342 to Devizes. On entering Everleigh, take a left turn signed to Haxton and Nether Avon. Follow the road for approx 1/4 mile. The car park is on your left on a right bend.
