Overview

Adults Climbing Social exclusively for disabled and neurodivergent adults aged 18+ takes place every Friday from 2pm - 4pm. If you have climbed before or are a new to climbing, you are welcome to come along. This is a drop in session, so you are able to stay as long or as little as you like. There will be experienced staff and volunteers at the social to guide, encourage and support you. We encourage climbers and carers to socialise in our South Ridge cafe before or after the session.

Meeting point instructions:

Unfortunately, Summit Up, does not have its own carpark. There is parking available on Bradshaw Street Car Park (OL1 3SW) / What3Words (Tigers.Causes.Arts)  adjacent to Summit Up is a council-owned car park and fees apply. ​ ​ There is free parking for 3 hours in the evenings after 6pm and on weekends all day (a ticket must be displayed ). ​ ​ You are also welcome to drop off on the main road outside the building, but please be aware these are double yellow lines and are not suitable to park on. ​

Accessibility Information:

The session is indoors, and you will enter the building through the front door, when you enter you will be in the reception/store area. Once you are through the barrier, you will be in the café area. ​ ​ The bouldering area to the right of the reception and café area. If you would like to access the sensory room and the Clip 'n Climb area, you must go down on flight of stairs. Finally, the climbing area is on the ground floor, down two flights of stairs. There is a lift that you can also use to access all 3 floors.​ ​ There is a café area which serves snacks, tea and coffee, and place to sit after your session. There is also a soft play area attached to the main reception and a store for you to buy any climbing equipment you may want to purchase​ ​ The toilets in the reception/cafe area. The venue has accessible toilet and changing facilities.​ ​ The staff at Summit Up are very friendly and will be happy to help in any way.
