Overview

Our session plays football with adapted practices and competitive play formats, with an emphasis on having fun. It is open to all footballing levels, and can give young people an introduction to Blind Football in a fun and safe environment. No prior experience is necessary. Our coaches provide IBSA approved sound footballs and total blackout eyeshades. Young people are to wear athletic wear and bring water. Our sessions are fun spaces to improve mental and physical health, learn new skills and make friends! We look forward to welcoming you on the pitch. The session pauses during school holidays.

Meeting point instructions:

For the session, you enter Acland Burghley school via the Churchill Road entrance. Enter the school’s Sport Centre – the sports hall is directly in front of the entrance and the gym is the first on the right. The coaches will meet the players in the gym.

Accessibility Information:

The school environment already incorporates many features to ensure accessibility. These include: a) Two lifts giving access to the first floor of two buildings. b) Ramps into and within the school providing access around the whole of the ground and first floors. c) Disabled toilets around the school, including one with a hoist. d) Features that improve acoustics. e) Guiding in emergency evacuation. f) New toilet facilities have fully accessible toilets and wash basins for students with mobility issues. There are no doors to negotiate on entry to the main toilet area.
