Norfolk Knights Wheelchair Rugby
Overview
Norfolk Knights are a Wheelchair Rugby club (est. 2016) with the aim of bringing this exciting Wheelchair Sport to Norfolk. In forming this club we have tried to take account of some of the key barriers to participation, and actively reduce or remove them, in order to build and promote an inviting club environment: We’re creating the opportunity We’re providing the key equipment We’re selecting accessible locations/venues The majority of wheelchair rugby athletes have spinal cord injuries. Other eligible players have multiple amputations, polio, or neurological disorders such as cerebral palsy, some forms of muscular dystrophy, or Guillain–Barré syndrome, among other medical conditions. If you can't run or play able-bodied Rugby, you can play wheelchair rugby! First and foremost we are focussed on building a social team for both male and female disabled participants. We are open to anyone from the age of 14 interested in learning more about the game. We also encourage able-bodied volunteers to join us to train, become assistants, chair mechanics, coaches and referees.Club features
