Power Walk
Overview
NB - The minimum age to attend our sessions is 16. Want to get the cardiovascular benefit of running but don't want the impact? Power walking might be just the thing for you. Join the group for a 45 minute cardio-based walking workout. The aim is to raise your heart rate, so it won't be a leisurely stroll. The power walking group will be led by qualified Run Leaders who have many years of experience supporting women to get into running. We understand that running might not be for everyone and we are excited to offer this lower impact option for ladies looking to get active with the support and encouragement of a friendly group. New walkers are welcome to join our group at any time of year. We meet The Racing Centre on Monday at 18:00 Please note that some runs may be suitable for children aged 8+ where the Run Leader(s) holds the relevant qualifications and insurance. Please check with the Run Leader(s) directly before attending any runs with under 8s. Qualified Run Leaders are insured to lead training sessions with runners using running buggies, however, please check with your Run Leader directly if you are able to attend with a buggy and that the route is suitable for running with a buggy. Only buggies designed for running may be used and they must be fitted with a five-point safety harness. You will be responsible for your child’s safety, so please be aware of the dangers of running with children in buggies.
