This sessions is open to anyone who would like to have a go a tennis. We go over basic technique, rules and tactics. This session is very sociable and easy going.
A social, led, brisk, short walk which, done on a regular basis, can help you feel good and have more energy. Health Walks are led by trained walk leaders and vary in length to suit all abilities. Be sure to check with site to confirm the meeting place as it could be in a community setting rather than the Centre. All you need is a comfortable pair of shoes and possibly a drink.
This is a lovely country walk with easy paths, through field and wooded areas. Lovely views all around and wonderful hot pasties from the local village shop when we finish or a cool g icecream if rather warm. We will be walking a maximum of 1.5 hours. With at least 1/2 hr socializing eating pasties and drinking a hot drink / icream :-)
Sports For confidence Boccia – (Floor bowls) is a sport where players try to roll their ball (called a bowl) closest to a smaller ball (known as a “jack” or sometimes a “kitty”). The bowls are intentionally heavier on one side so that they turn when being rolled. The game can be played either in teams or one-on-one. Disability and Inclusive Activity Clubs are fun and accessible that provide Paralympic and multi-sports for disabled people. Delivering high quality sports and physical activity provision for the community and offering expert knowledge of disability sport through our fully-qualified sports coaches
Slow gentle seated movements, suitable for those with tight muscles and movement limitations. Designed to re-train the brain to let go of tension, promote movement and self-awareness. Finishing with relaxation exercises and chance for a chat.
The Accessible Swim Session is designed to help disabled and less-abled swimmers to build on their water confidence and swimming technique. Available to to all users in a friendly and supportive environment. Pool hoist availabe if required.
Seated or standing exercises focusing on improving balance to reduce the risk of falls and increase confidence in our more vulnerable customers.
Wellbeing Walks are short walks, run by friendly, specially trained volunteer walk leaders, who are on hand to provide encouragement and support. All walks are free of charge and are open to everyone – you don’t need to preregister, just come along and join us. The routes start and finish at the same location as advertised, and last between 30 and 90 minutes.
