Got the moves? Or not quite yet… Dance could be the thing for you.
Dance can be a great social activity or something you take up as a competitive sport.
There are loads of ways to get involved: from dancing “combi” style with a non-disabled partner, or duo dance for two wheelchair users together, group dances involving wheelchair users only or together with non-disabled partners, single dance where a wheelchair user dance alone, to formation dances for four, six or eight couples dancing together.
Whether you think you’ve got a waltz, tango, foxtrot or quickstep in you. Or feeling the samba, cha-cha-cha, rumba, paso doble or jive, wheelchair dance could be for you.
Things you might need to get started
- You don’t need to be a wheelchair user and friends and carers are more than welcome.
- Get in touch with the venue with any specific questions you have about accessibility.
- Wear something comfy!
