The Sheffield based club were among 11 nominees for the prize having been named Club of the Month back in February 2022, thanks in part to the friendly and supportive environment that all their amazing members contribute in creating for each other.

We called Jake Oakley, coach and club chairperson with the Steelkings, to deliver the news and he told us...

"For Sheffield Steelkings to be crowned Every Body Moves's Club of the Year is incredible! I know I speak for everyone at the club when I say that we are over the moon and honoured that people took the time to vote for us and the range of work we're doing here. Since we started the club in 2014, we have gone from strength to strength, both on and off the ice. This is because we believe that 'Hockey Is For Everyone' and we try to get as many people involved with the Steelkings as possible."

"To have our vision for the Steelkings, and the sport of para ice hockey, shared by so many is unbelievable - Together we will continue to reach for higher and higher goals!"

On top of all this we will continue to grow the Steelkings and the sport as a whole. Through winning Every Body Moves Powered by Toyota Club of the Year, we hope this award will help shine an even brighter spotlight on the sport of para ice hockey and the amazing work the Steelkings and it's members are doing to help even more people get started. Whether just for fun, to meet some new friends, increase your physical activity levels, or if you've got your sights on the competitive side. Para ice hockey has something for everyone!"
