Overview

Islington Boat Clubs Summer of Fun; In today’s digital world where children 'live' in virtual worlds and have spent prolonged periods of time during the last 12 months in isolation, Islington Boat Club offers an opportunity for them to come and experience real life adventures in the great outdoors. This summer we want to open the gates at Islington Boat Club for a 5 weeks programme, providing activities for young people from Islington, to gain qualifications, broaden their horizons, reduce isolation and experience what watersports can offer.

Accessibility Information:

IBC (Islington Boat Club) is the only watersports provider in the Borough of Islington. It is unique in that it offers on-site programmes at the City Road Basin on the Regents Canal. These high-quality activities have been developed and refined over 50 years in order to address personal and social development through the medium of sport. Originally IBC was seen as a place for children and young people to enjoy boating; as an adventure playground on water, but over the years, this has changed in order to meet the ever changing needs and demands of the cosmopolitan community we serve so that there is an emphasis placed on gaining skills, building confidence, teamwork and become more inclusive through its desire to enable the personal development for people of all abilities, ages and walks of life.
