Overview
We do not have a Wheelchair Basketball Club or any other Wheelchair Sports in the Borough. Putting on taster sessions during our Half Term Holidays and Para Multi-Sport events and gathering feedback from participants showed a big interest in the this type of sport.
Recently Havering Sixth Form College showed an interest in putting on a Wheelchair Basketball session where we liaise with local clubs/organisations such as:
-Local Basketball Club Right Development Foundation
-Local Schools and Colleges
-Disability Steering Groups
-Local Disability Community Groups
-Local Sport Clubs
-Havering SENCO departments
The idea being that we start with Wheelchair Basketball and open the club up to other Multi-Sport activities.

They currently employ a qualified fitness instructors who can offer tailor-made training plans along with advice on nutrition, lifestyle and health. As well as traditional measures of fitness, we are able to measure blood pressure, body fat, BMI and lung function to assist students in monitoring all aspects of their health. Students are required to undertake an induction and health screening questionnaire before using the fitness suite.
