Overview
Greenbank Sports Academy is run by The Greenbank Project (Greenbank), a Liverpool based registered charity (Charity Number 513814), which has operated since 1983. Our mission statement states that Greenbank Sports Academy is a centre of excellence in physical education, sport and recreation that is totally user friendly, owned and run by disabled people. This is achieved by offering the following activities: Sports and recreation sessions for disabled children in school holidays and after school Disability sports events and clubs Specialist sports coaching within the community including schools Links to governing bodies for sport and support for elite athletes by providing training facilities. A flexible educational pathway into vocational training, coaching and higher education through courses offered at Greenbank College and in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University Opening up employment opportunities for disabled people in the sports and leisure industry Running a café, conference and accommodation facilities, gym and sports hall on a not for profit basis for the benefit of the local community
