Overview

Friendly sailing experiences and training to RYA standards where appropriate for young people and adults having a wide range of disabilities or disadvantages All sailing takes place on the picturesque tidal River Orwell between Harwich / Felixstowe port & Ipswich From early May to Late September only.

Attending the club:

Please get in touch via the contact details provided for more information on how you can attend our sessions.Children aged 5 – 15 years are referred through their local primary and secondary schools.

When we meet:

Adult 18 year + sessions on Tuesday & Wednesday afternoons & evenings.Special needs School sessions on Thursday mornings & afternoons once every two weeks.Young people 10-18 years on Saturday mornings & afternoons once every two weeks.

Equipment:

Participants are encouraged to bring appropriate clothing for the prevailing weather conditions but some protective clothing is available for initial trial sails or unexpected conditions. We supply our own serviced & tested lifejackets or Personal Flotation Devices for all sailors. Protective headgear is also available where requested or advised.

Our pontoon is fitted with Electro Hydraulic hoisting equipment to enable boarding and disembarking of our boats for wheelchair users and those with mobility problems.
