Creative Walks: Nature Journalling 2
Culture in Common
Overview
Creative Walks are a series of walks throughout the New Forest aimed at connecting people to nature and each other through creative activities including photography, sketching, creative writing, outdoor dance and much more! Cultivate a deeper connection and a greater understanding and appreciation of the natural world by filling your nature journal with drawings, paintings, thoughts or observations. It can have lots of words or no words. You decide what you are going to record and how to record it. Nature journaling is creating just for fun and there are no rules! It’s suitable for everyone and benefits include helping us relax, practice self-care, boost confidence, learn about the natural world, embrace mistakes, experiment and try things out. During this Creative Walk, we’ll slow down, engage our senses and be present in the moment. No experience is necessary and the walk is open to all. We’ll pause regularly along the way to engage with our coastal surroundings while exploring exciting creative prompts which will build confidence, develop technique and challenge you to find new ways to quantify observations. Meet at The Hurst Road East car park. We’ll then continue on the unpaved footpath, turning left along Sturt Pond. After reaching the end of the pond, we'll retrace our steps, passing our starting point to The Needles Eye Cafe.
