Stride On: Walking Football for people affected by Parkinson’s Disease
Arsenal FC
Overview
Stride On: Walking Football for people affected by Parkinson’s Disease In partnership with The Whittington NHS Trust, we are now running a walking football project specifically for people living with Parkinson’s Disease. Exercise is proven to slow the progression of Parkinson’s and we believe the best exercise is the one you enjoy the most. These sessions start with a 30-minute social support group, where participants can have tea & coffee and receive occasional talks from guest speakers on various topics. This is followed by 1 hour of walking football led by experienced Arsenal in the Community Coaches. The walking football is adapted to be slightly slower and more beneficial for people with Parkinson’s Disease, including plenty of coordination drills designed to improve balance and walking patterns.Club features
