Cycling For All

Overview

WASP provides free, accessible cycling sessions to all who would benefit from our bikes. We have a wheelchair platform bike, a handcycle, a side-by-side tricycle for those with sensory impairments, who want their support worker with them, or who just want to chat, and various other tricycles to use. Our sessions are on every Tuesday from 10am - 12noon and Wednesday from 1pm - 3pm. In Agnew Park, Stranraer, next to the Pavilion building. These sessions are free, but donations are welcome. No experience is necessary. Helmets and bikes are provided. Sessions are delivered by Wigtownshire Stuff Staff Charlie Tingley, Fin Lamont, and Olivia Donald, with support from D&G Disability Sports. Any changes to the sessions due to bad weather, etc, will be posted on our Facebook page. Accessibility Information:

There is free parking nearby, and wheelchair parking is available. The bikes are a short walk from the parking, but if this is a problem, we can bring the bikes to you. Our friendly staff are on hand to help. We use the pavilion building during the sessions. This gives us a dry, warm space to hide from the bad weather and access to toilets, including a disabled toilet. We have bikes to suit most additional support needs. Due to their size, our bikes are mostly for adults, but please get in touch if this will be a problem.
