Adaptive Surfing - Newquay

Overview

Each session is approximately two hours, and our adaptive surf locations are designed to be as accessible as possible, such as beach access wheelchairs, adapted wetsuits that are easier to get on and off, transfer slings and boards and a range of adapted surfboards, including seated boards. Our surf coaches hold International Surfing Association Adaptive Surf Instructor Qualification and our volunteers have all been through our in-house adaptive surf training. Our lead coaches will discuss with you your individual requirements and plan the session to provide you with the best, safest and most fun session for you. We can also accommodate groups, and encourage siblings and families to surf at the same time.

Meeting point instructions:

We meet in the Watergate Bay Hotel Car park. Currently the car park costs around £4 for 3 hours and around £.850 for the day.

Accessibility Information:

We have a lot of equipment designed to make our sessions as accessible as possible, such as beach access wheelchairs, adapted wetsuits that are easier to get on and off, transfer slings and boards and a range of adapted and seated boards. We currently use the studio changing area in the hotel, with a new changing table. The doorway to the studio is too narrow for beach wheelchairs but allows for a normal size wheelchair to get through and a transfer using slings if required will take place outside. There is an outdoor shower and disabled toilet within the hotel.
