Overview
This is the class for you if you are feeling your age, or flexibly-challenged, want to improve your muscular and core body strength, and/or improve your balance and energy levels. Yoga is also known for improving mental well-being. Each class starts with a time to rest and breathe, followed by gentle warm-up exercises for the muscles and joints, before progressing onto stronger exercises. Everyone goes at their own pace. The emphasis is on ‘listening to your own body’s needs’. We also explore different breathing patterns, and always finish with a relaxation. If standing or lying on a mat is difficult, the exercises can be done on a chair. You might have been practising yoga for years, or be new to it. Suitable for older students, as well as those who might be living with chronic fatigue-type illness, or just want a very gentle practice.
