Do you want to meet new people and have fun whilst exercising? Come along to these free adapted exercise sessions which are aimed for older people with health conditions to improve general fitness. The class will be led by a qualified instructor, who is experienced in running classes for the over 50's. Carers welcome.
Seated Exercise Class with Cardio, Strength, Balance & Mobility
A 60-minute exercise class involving 30-minutes of strength, balance and mobility exercises and 30-minutes of table tennis.
Level 1: 1 - 1.5 miles, flat or gentle slopes, no stiles and ideal for those able to complete 30- 40 mins with minimal stops. Level 2: 2 - 2.5 miles, tracks and some hills or moderate pace. Ideal for those looking to develop their walking fitness and able to complete 45-60 mins with minimal stops. Under 18’s may attend but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Mixed ability walk between 60 and 90 minutes, about 3 - 5 miles, faster pace and possible steep inclines and stiles. If this is your first Health Walk, please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start so you can listen to a pre walk briefing. You don't need any special equipment but be sure to dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes and bring a bottle of water. Lace your walking boots up, step out, and let the world unfold beneath your feet. Our Explorer WALX will venture into the beautiful areas around the Forest. This 2-mile walk is primarily on flat terrain but can be muddy on occasions. Allow 1 hour for the walk. This Explorer WALX session is open to walkers who do not wish, or are not able, to use poles. This session is suited to those who are looking to improve their fitness and can walk at a minimum pace of 2 mph.
