Walking football is designed to give you the chance to play the game you love but reduce the chances of injury. It's a great way to keep fit, learn skills, have fun and socialise!
We encourage and promote sport to people with a disability to enable them to be physically active. Our sessions are led by enthusiastic and fully qualified coaches who will ensure that the participants have a great time and have an opportunity to to try a range of activities.
Wellbeing Walks are short walks, run by friendly, specially trained volunteer walk leaders, who are on hand to provide encouragement and support. All walks are free of charge and are open to everyone – you don’t need to preregister, just come along and join us. The routes start and finish at the same location as advertised, and last between 30 and 90 minutes. Wellbeing walks are regular walks which are free and open to all – though aimed particularly at people who are presently doing little or no exercise – and usually last for about an hour. People are encouraged to walk at their own pace, safe in the knowledge that they are walking with trained leaders, one of whom will remain at the back of the group, with the slowest walkers. Meeting at 9.45 at the main entrance of Newquay Zoo for a slow paced 30-40 minute weekly walk that will start at 10am. The 13 acre site has a circular path which is fully accessible to those with mobility issues, users of mobility aids. The walk is a friendly social group organised by the Health Coaches and Social Prescribers at the two Newquay Surgeries. Want to get your heart rate up and get a sweat on? Just us on a Friday morning for a faster and or longer walk starting at Shard End Lake. We will do a minimum of 5k and be walking at a faster pace so be prepared to get your wiggle on. We will start with a warm up and will stretch at the end and walk through the Kingfisher Country Park and in the local area.
