The Good Boost programme allows you to follow the exercises in the pool and progress at your own pace. It has been built by expert clinicians to reduce pain and improve strength and mobility.
This is a fun class suitable for everyone, it includes some aerobic moves in the chair, some strength work using bands and weights, and a gentle stretch. This is also at Polly’s Field, you don’t have to be a resident to join in.
Our sit-stand joint pain class; for seniors who can't do Pilates! For adults over 50 who can't do floor exercises and want to manage joint pain while improving strength, balance and mobility. This friendly community class offers expert guidance, scalable exercises and one-on-one support through gentle, effective exercises designed to help you move with confidence and comfort.
The classes are suitable for older adults who haven’t exercised before or who have started to experience a decline in their physical ability. There are two classes available: A Beginner/Intermediate class which lasts for 45 minutes and an Intermediate/Advanced class, which lasts for approximately 1 hour. Otago is a muscle strengthening and balance retraining program developed and tested by the New Zealand falls prevention research group. The idea behind Otago is that muscle strength, balance, flexibility and reaction time can all be improved to reduce your risk of falling. The session will include use of chairs and ankle weights. This course introduces you to the wonderful world of Nordic walking, a fun and very sociable way to get fit and stay fit, in beautiful surroundings. The course is 4 x 1 hour lessons in two parts. Sessions 1 and 2 focus on learning the Technique of Nordic Walking, how to use and get the best from the special Nordic Walking poles.
