Monday’s (11 – 1pm) Join the DRC Walking Group, meeting every Monday at our DRC head office in Kitts Green, Birmingham. You'll be greeted with a warm smile and a cup of tea or coffee. After some friendly conversation, we'll kick off with a 20-minute seated exercise session, followed by a relaxing walk-through Tile Cross Park.

Strength & Balance is a chair-based exercise programme for over-55s living in Islington. These sessions can be done sitting down but are also suitable for those looking to improve their balance and become steadier on their feet. These gentle exercise classes are also suitable for people with movement-limiting conditions such as COPD and arthritis. This walk is for approximately 1/1.25 hours. There are a couple of alternative routes from the start depending on sign ups and the ground conditions. There are some gentle inclines along country lanes, farm tracks and footpaths. Gear 1 - A nice, easy and natural pace that you can do for extended periods with recovery periods where appropriate. Short hills might be introduced.
