Blind and VI paraclimbing #AccessibleOutdoors

Climbing might not instantly come to mind as a way to enjoy the outdoors for blind and visually impaired participants, but providers like previous Club of the Month Award winners Scottish Paraclimbing Club are out to change that perception.
We sent England blind football player, Samantha Gough, along to an outdoor face just outside Edinburgh to join the club for a session. Sam told us: "Because I'm blind I'm going to have a different experience, because I'm not going to be able to see how high am I actually from the ground"
"It's going to be feeling the rock, feeling the wind, and just enjoying the thrill of being so high up."

Paraclimbing is one of the fastest growing adaptive sports in the UK and with the event added to the Los Angeles Paralympics Games in 2028, even more indoor facilities, outdoor centres, and clubs, are all looking at ways they can make their sessions and venues more inclusive to disabled participants.
Filmed as part of Every Body Moves #AccessibleOutdoors month, celebrating inclusive ways the disabled community can access the UK's green and blue spaces.
