Upcoming Paralympic Potential Event
Explore Your Paralympic Potential
If you’ve ever wondered what it might be like to try a Paralympic sport, this could be a great place to start.
ParalympicsGB’s Paralympic Potential events are designed to give disabled people the chance to explore different Paralympic sports in a supportive, practical environment. You don’t need prior experience. You don’t need to know which sport is right for you. The focus is on trying things out and seeing what might work for you and where it might take you.
Paralympic Potential Day – Loughborough University
The next event encourages you to fall in love with your new Paralympic sport on Saturday 14 February 2026 at Loughborough University.
On the day, you’ll have the chance to try a range of Paralympic sports, including:
- Wheelchair Tennis
- Wheelchair Rugby
- Rowing
- Canoeing
- Cycling
- Athletics
- Triathlon
Expert coaches and support staff will be on hand throughout the day to guide you, answer questions, and help you get the most from each session.
This event is about exploration - It’s a chance to try different sports, learn what’s involved, and understand the pathways that exist if you want to take things further.
Who is Paralympic Potentials for?
Paralympic Potentials events are aimed at disabled people who may have the potential to progress in Paralympic sport. That includes people who:
• Are new to organised sport
• Have played sport before but want to try something different
• Have acquired an impairment and are looking for new opportunities
• Are unsure which sport might suit them
There is no single starting point. Many athletes begin their journey by simply turning up and having a go.
What happens after the event?
For some people, the day will be about discovery and confidence. For others, it may open the door to further conversations with sports, coaches, or talent teams.
Paralympic Potential is part of a wider system led by ParalympicsGB, designed to help identify and support future Paralympic athletes over time. Taking part does not commit you to anything. It gives you information, experience, and options.
