Overview
I have been working on my physical and mental health by going to Zumba classes since I was 18. I instantly fell in love with the latin rhythms and easy-to-follow routines. I continued going to Zumba throughout my University training to become a Speech and Language Therapist; it gave me something to step outside of the busy fast paced and high pressure University life. When I moved back down South to be with my family and started my career in Speech and Language Therapy, much to my relief I found a new Zumba class! My love and passion for Zumba continued as my sense of rhythm improved and I came away each week feeling happy, refreshed, and ready for anything. My Zumba instructor encouraged me to do the Zumba training, so that I could be a Zumba instructor. I was very reluctant at first!
Me ... teaching Zumba in front of people I just didn't have the confidence. After a few months of contemplation...I did the course and have never looked back. I will be forever grateful to my Zumba instructor who encouraged me to do this. Zumba has had a massive impact on my mental health; increasing my confidence, happiness levels, self-esteem and self-image. 2 years ago I would never have thought I would teaching others Zumba..and that it would be the favourite part of my week. Every week 15 million people take classes in 180 different countries in 200,000 different locations. Why? The reason is simple: Every class feels like a party! Zumba is a latin-inspired dance excercise class. Zumba is easy to pick up, great fun, and designed for everyone. You don't even need any prior dance experience. Come join me you'll see what I mean.
