Overview
Marine activities are at the heart of Sea Sanctuary’s mental health and wellbeing programmes, which are all rooted in the ‘blue health’ the concept that being in or by the water, rejuvenates the body and mind reducing stress and anxiety.
Sea Sanctuary combine marine activities with psychological therapies and emotional and practical skills education, which has proven to be a unique recipe for success that has helped hundreds of people improve their health and wellbeing.
Join us aboard our beautiful yacht Winter, for our award-winning sailing programmes out of Falmouth. Our yacht is fully crewed with an experienced skipper, a therapist/first mate and we accommodate up to four clients on each sail.
Sailors will be at one with the sea, enjoying the space, the sensory awareness, the refreshing sensation, the motion, the smell and the challenge.
Being at sea, allows the time and opportunity to explore often self- imposed limitations, allowing you to be present in the moment and connect with emotions.
We encourage you to take the helm, handle the sails, and grind the winches; making sure everybody feels safe and enjoys the day. All wet weather gear, including a jacket, trousers, boots and a lifejacket is provided.
We currently have the following sail programmes available:
Sail Into Life - a four-day residential sail
Raise Your Sail – wellbeing day sail
