Gloucester Junior Wheelchair Rugby Team
Sports category:
Wheelchair Sports
Overview
Our wheelchair rugby sessions are fun, engaging and inclusive for all. We have a great group of Juniors who are always looking to welcome new players in. We encourage people to give it a go before they decide if it is for them or not, but once you're in the chair, you will love it.
It is a great opportunity to see a different perspective of sports and learn completely new skills in the process. You really do meet friends for life and we make sure you have the best time doing it.

When we meet:
Training is held every Monday evening 17:00 - 18:00 at Imjin Barracks. We meet in the car park at 16:30. This allows time for set up and everyone to be in their chairs ready to start for the full hour.
Is there a specific meeting point at the address:
We all meet outside, in the car park where you will be given passes to get into the facility.
Equipment:
With wheelchair rugby, as you would assume the correct style of wheelchair is required. As not many have their own chairs, we do have some that we will provide for the sessions.
To use the wheelchairs, gloves are expected to be worn. Ideally they need grip on the inside to best control the chair which we can provide for the first few sessions.
All other training equipment will be provided by Gloucester Rugby Foundation such as balls, cones and bibs.

Accessibility Information:
Imjin Barracks is a great facility and is an army barrack. The Barracks have made the facility accessible by providing parking next to the gym and a ramp for the step to get into the facility. In the sports gym, there is a disabled toilet which they all have access to whenever needed and the changing facilities are accessible for those in wheelchairs.
They have made the process to get into the Barracks as easy as possible to suit the needs of their disabilities by providing parking passes and entry passes to the Gloucester Rugby Foundation coach to hand these out for when the team members arrive. They will then be allowed to access the Barracks and make their way to the Sports Hall. This process is good so it limits the amount of times they have to get in and out of their cars.
