Deaf Awareness: NE Badminton Club
Sports category:
Racket Sports
Overview
Our deaf awareness: NE Badminton Club is a welcoming social activity designed to bring deaf and hard of hearing people and their hearing counterparts together in some fun badminton play.
The group is supported by a Level 2 Badminton coach who teaches skills such as racket grip, shot selection and court positioning in a relaxed way that meets the relevant standard of play of each individual player.
We use one badminton court to bring together participants in enjoyable, though tasking, badminton skill challenges that help with improvement and create a sense of fun togetherness.
Double and single badminton games are played to round off the activity and to help put into practice some of the participant learning.

Accessibility Information:
Our activity takes place in the well equipped Linskill Centre. The centre has ample parking available with disabled parking nearby. The entrance to the building and corridors within the building are all step free access. Our activity takes place on the ground level. There are disabled toilets available, though no shower facilities and limited room for changing, so participants are encouraged to arrive at the centre already dressed for their activity. We are able to provide sign language support and speech to text support with prior arrangement.
