Bikeability level 3 - Advanced on road training
Stevenage Cycling Hub
Overview
This is for children that can already ride a bike, if your child cannot ride a bike without stabilisers please look at children's ‘Beginner Biking’ above or the one-to-one training option below. Children will enjoy learning the skills and developing the confidence to ride their bikes on today’s roads. There are three Bikeability levels, with each level designed to help improve their cycling skills, no matter what they know already. Levels 1, 2 and 3 take trainees on a journey from the basics of balance and control, all the way through to planning and making a journey by themselves on busier roads. Children will typically start Bikeability lessons once they have already learnt to ride a bike. Level 3 teaches how to ride in different and more challenging traffic situations and is usually completed by children of secondary school age. To register participants must have already successfully completed Level 2 and be in school year 6 or above. This is a 3 day course of 2 hour sessions. These courses are run in conjunction with the Herts County Council Cycle Training Team and will be led by their National Standards Bikeability instructors.
