Rhyl Raptors Wheelchair Sports Club is open to all and trains at Rhyl Leisure Centre on a Tuesday evening. We have three sessions that run for varying abilities. Although 90% of our participants are Adaptive or VI we are an inclusive club regardless of age/ability/religion/culture/ethnicity etc. Players range from non verbal ASD/Global delay/physical disabilities to VI ADHD and mainstream. Do you want to get fitter and stronger while learning new skills. Our Thursday Taekwondo session teaches Taekwondo techniques, including kicking and punching pads and shields to learn self defence skill, while boosting your confidence. Our fun energetic lessons are designed to teach martial art skills while getting fitter. We have a number of black belts assisting with the class to give you all the support and encouragement you need.
Our welcoming environment and skilled coaches make it easy for children of all abilities to learn and progress at their own pace. Your child will work towards developing essential skills such as strength, coordination and flexibility. Our coaches are fully qualified and experienced in working with a range of equipment so you can be sure your child is in safe hands. If you attend a trial your space will be held for 48 hours. Please book as soon after the trial to avoid disappointment.
All our sports are fun and open to all age groups with the emphasis on sustainable enjoyment for participants.
Trampoline and Gymnastics Coaching. All are welcome. Over 10% of our members have a disability and we are encouraging more to join. We adapt the activities on the Trampoline to your specific disability. You don't have to be able to bounce, we use bean bags and can bounce you. If you can't see, we will bounce with you.
