Delivered by qualified dance instructors, our Norwich pan-disability Dance Sessions introduce participants aged 8+ to the basics of dance in fun, weekly classes. Focusing on key dance skills, the sessions, supported by funding from the Foundation, include routines and fun games. Participants can also look forward to exciting performance opportunities throughout the year. Sessions will take place at Carrow Park and will cost £2 per session.
‘Tigers’ is a football club for adults (18+) who have a learning disability. We train on a Monday evening from 5.00pm to 6.00pm at South Wilts Sports Club, Wilton Road, Salisbury. From time to time the club is involved in tournaments, where we play against similar teams from other parts of Wiltshire. South Wilts Mencap support the club by transporting the players to tournaments in the minibus.
Our Girls & Young Women session is aimed at all abilities from the compete beginner to the competent. These sessions take place on the River Lea and the surrounding area and focus on safe, enjoyable learning experiences. The sessions are delivered by female professional National Governing Body Coaches and Leaders who have many years of experience of working with young people in an outdoor setting. PLEASE NOTE: If you have never used the toning suite before you are required an induction. Inductions are £11.80 and must be booked over the phone or in site (01472) 326875. You are only permitted to use the Toning Suite if you meet a certain criteria which will be authorised by the Fitness Supervisor.
Walking rugby: one of England rugby's non-contact formats of the game! There is no tackling involved… Instead, a touch on the armpit or below are used. Played on a half pitch, participants must be working at all times. This session is available for all skill levels and all abilities. These are social sessions with a low commitment level, meaning you can join us whenever you like!
