Hereward Heat is a club for wheelchair basketball players - experienced or new. Players include fulltime wheelchair users, those with mobility issues, and able bodied people. If you like team sports, learning new skills, high energy activity or just having fun, then Heat is for you. We’re always looking for new players, so please do get in touch. We train at Comberton Village College (CB23 7DU) near Cambridge, on Tuesday evenings. And play a few matches at the weekends during the season.
The Accessible Swim Session is designed to help disabled and less-abled swimmers to build on their water confidence and swimming technique. Available to to all users in a friendly and supportive environment. Pool hoist availabe if required.
Walking netball is played at walking pace, with players not allowed to run. This includes with the ball or off the ball, and includes jogging. You can ‘walk’ as fast as you want and walking as described in the rules is “one foot must be in contact with the ground at all times'”.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have never used the toning suite before you are required an induction. Inductions are £11.80 and must be booked over the phone or in site 01472 326875. You are only permitted to use the Toning Suite if you meet a certain criteria which will be authorised by the Fitness Supervisor.
Wheelchair rugby is a fast paced, full contact team sport open to ages eight upwards and both sexes and to most levels of disabilities, especially those with higher levels of disabilities for whom there are very few options to take part in sport.
We book the Main and Teaching pools at Places Leisure Eastleigh, Passfield Avenue SO50 9NL for our exclusive use on Tuesday evenings between 8.00pm and 9.00pm. Members can also meet beforehand from 7.30pm in the cafe area. We are a community football club located in the heart of Brighton designed to support those experiencing mental health issues either themselves or through a member of their family. In partnership with Sussex FA Just Play, we host a selection of local kickabouts and community charity matches. Additionally we will be working with local charities to offer mental health support and already have a partnership in place with Grassroots Suicide Prevention.
