We encourage and promote sport to people with a disability to enable them to be physically active. Our sessions are led by enthusiastic and fully qualified coaches who will ensure that the participants have a great time and have an opportunity to to try a range of activities.
Wellbeing Walks are short walks, run by friendly, specially trained volunteer walk leaders, who are on hand to provide encouragement and support. All walks are free of charge and are open to everyone – you don’t need to preregister, just come along and join us. The routes start and finish at the same location as advertised, and last between 30 and 90 minutes. Meeting at 9.45 at the main entrance of Newquay Zoo for a slow paced 30-40 minute weekly walk that will start at 10am. The 13 acre site has a circular path which is fully accessible to those with mobility issues, users of mobility aids. The walk is a friendly social group organised by the Health Coaches and Social Prescribers at the two Newquay Surgeries. Ideal for people with a long-term health condition or mobility issue. Or you are struggling with niggles and aches and stiffness. All the exercises are done seated or using the support of the chair. This includes supported standing and supported balance work alongside mobility, strengthening, stretching and relaxation.
We are based at the start of an 11 mile off road Cycle Path, stretching from us in Yatton, to Cheddar. We have a great range of bikes, regular bikes, handcycles, a veloplus wheelchar bike, trikes, adaptive tandems, E-bikes and more.
