Our combined Tai Chi and Qigong class starts with a gentle warm-up to calm the breathing and mind, and mobilise the body. Angela will guide you through the Tai Chi steps from the front of the hall, talking you through each of the movements. We will learn a new step or revisit and refine one each class, building on the previous movements to flow a sequence together. Otago is a muscle strengthening and balance retraining program developed and tested by the New Zealand falls prevention research group. The idea behind Otago is that muscle strength, balance, flexibility and reaction time can all be improved to reduce your risk of falling. The session will include use of chairs and ankle weights. First class free.

A swim session for anyone with a long-term health condition who wants to do some exercise in the water, work on their swim technique or just socialise in an accessible environment. The session is ran by an exercise referral instructor and a swim teacher.
This is a short walk along footpaths and country lanes. There are a couple of different options according to the ground conditions. Either a circular route around Appleshaw Woods or a shorter route along country lanes and farm tracks. Suitable for Gear 1 walkers, but everyone is welcome if you would like coffee, cake and a chat.
