The classes are suitable for older adults who haven’t exercised before or who have started to experience a decline in their physical ability. There are two classes available: A Beginner/Intermediate class which lasts for 45 minutes and an Intermediate/Advanced class, which lasts for approximately 1 hour. A confidence swim is ideal for adults who are looking to build confidence in a supportive and social environment before joining a general swim. A qualified swimming teacher is available for guidance. Welcome and guidance for 25 minutes before the session start time. There will also be tea and coffee available.
‘Not too fast, not too slow’ This walk is a gentle walk and is ideal if you need to build your confidence as you start your journey with WALX. If you want a /gentle steady walk over the spectacular Comyn this is the walk for you. Hills will be avoided and the route varies each week. During the drier months we will walk through the meadows, if its wet and muddy we will keep to the hard perimeter surface. ‘

Inclusive cycling session delivered outside using adapted bikes, led by Sport for Confidence. Sport for Confidence programmes place health professionals and specialist coaches into leisure centres, to provide inclusive sporting opportunities to people who face barriers to participation, including those with learning disabilities, mental health issues, dementia, autism, physical impairment or disability, homelessness, and many other complex health needs.
A class designed for people following a cardiac episode, including surgery, to continue to be active in a safe environment.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have never used the toning suite before you are required an induction. Inductions are £11.80 and must be booked over the phone or in site 01472 326875. You are only permitted to use the Toning Suite if you meet a certain criteria which will be authorised by the Fitness Supervisor.
