We encourage and promote sport to people with a disability to enable them to be physically active. Our sessions are led by enthusiastic and fully qualified coaches who will ensure that the participants have a great time and have an opportunity to to try a range of activities.
Wellbeing Walks are short walks, run by friendly, specially trained volunteer walk leaders, who are on hand to provide encouragement and support. All walks are free of charge and are open to everyone – you don’t need to preregister, just come along and join us. The routes start and finish at the same location as advertised, and last between 30 and 90 minutes. This group exercise class is designed to help the elderly improve physical fitness, strength, and balance. The exercises within the class are progressed slowly according to your abilities, and within the same group people normally progress at different rates. The exercises are specifically developed to help you feel steadier on your feet and improve your confidence in getting around on your own. We offer short walks of between 25 - 30 minutes at the pace of the slowest or least confident person and we are happy to stop and wait for anyone who needs to rest during the walks. The walk is usually followed by a refreshments and a chat.
