Walking Netball is a slower version of the game; it is netball, but at a walking pace. Sessions are full of fun, laughter and camaraderie. Hereward Heat is a club for wheelchair basketball players - experienced or new. Players include fulltime wheelchair users, those with mobility issues, and able bodied people. If you like team sports, learning new skills, high energy activity or just having fun, then Heat is for you. We’re always looking for new players, so please do get in touch. We train at Comberton Village College (CB23 7DU) near Cambridge, on Tuesday evenings. And play a few matches at the weekends during the season.
Walking netball is played at walking pace, with players not allowed to run. This includes with the ball or off the ball, and includes jogging. You can ‘walk’ as fast as you want and walking as described in the rules is “one foot must be in contact with the ground at all times'”.
The Accessible Swim Session is designed to help disabled and less-abled swimmers to build on their water confidence and swimming technique. Available to to all users in a friendly and supportive environment. Pool hoist availabe if required.
