The classes are suitable for older adults who haven’t exercised before or who have started to experience a decline in their physical ability. There are two classes available: A Beginner/Intermediate class which lasts for 45 minutes and an Intermediate/Advanced class, which lasts for approximately 1 hour. This walking group activity is delivered by Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) as part of the lottery funded Healthier Independent Longer Lives (HILL) project. It is designed to help people lead healthier, more independent and active lives. This is a fun walk for all ages and abilities. We stop for a refreshment at the of the walk, so come along and make new friends in your local community, have fun and get active!
Our Friday Walk is a feelgood one but with an added fitness element of slightly faster pace, longer distance or some hills (not all 3 together!) so some may run to 1 1/4 hours but this will be listed. This gives you the chance to make some fitness gains whilst enjoying the company of friends and the scenery of Saddleworth.
