For those of our members (and their partners/carers as appropriate) with mild Parkinson's symptoms, this is a gentle and safe way to improve posture, functional movement and confidence when walking. No pressure here to walk further or faster than you feel comfortable with. This leisurely walk lasts up to an hour, and includes exercises that help with flexibility, balance and strength.
Join our Guided Nordic Walk around the ancient Forest. Walks are led by our team of experienced Forestry England Volunteers. Our walks are suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels, who have completed a NWUK Learn to Walk Course and are comfortable walking for the full 90 minutes. Please sign up at least 2 hours before the advertised start time so that we can ensure one of our volunteer leaders will be there. Please book in advance online. Freedom Passport Holders only.
Our lovely Tuesday walk is an hour of easy walking incorporating some mobility, balance and stretches - perfect for those who don't want to push themselves too much, are recently starting out on their Nordic walking journey or quite simply want to have an hour of steady, pleasurable walking.
Our Wellbeing classes are gentler Nordic walking sessions, suitable for those gradually building their fitness levels, or with injuries or medical conditions that require a more gradual approach to improved health and fitness. WASP provides free, accessible cycling sessions to all who would benefit from our bikes. We have a wheelchair platform bike, a handcycle, a side-by-side tricycle for those with sensory impairments, who want their support worker with them, or who just want to chat, and various other tricycles to use. Adult Walking Tennis - if you are a little less mobile or have a health condition which you feel limits you from keeping up with everyone else, why not try Walking Tennis. A smaller court area is used, with softer and slower balls, which can bounce twice. Underarm serves can be used. All abilities are welcome - just play your way at your pace.
