GEMS is a friendly and relaxed dance class for over 65s which includes a mixture of seated and standing movement with a focus on everyone going at their own pace and having fun. GEMS is more than a dance class. It's about being part of a community, building friendships and everyone enjoying themselves. We cover a wide range of styles and facilitate the exploration of creative movement. Each session costs £3.50, your first session is free!
The exercises will be to music and tailored to the abilities of the participants. Many of the exercises will be chair based. Chair exercises will include: • Warm-up • Exercises for arms • Exercises for legs • Core exercises • Aerobics for cardio
Level 2: 2 - 2.5 miles, tracks and some hills or moderate pace. Ideal for those looking to develop their walking fitness and able to complete 45-60 mins with minimal stops. Flexercise is gentle exercise to music to improve coordination, posture and balance. Alongside exercising our bodies we enjoy time together which promotes overall wellbeing. Aimed at older people 50+ but younger people are welcome.

For about an hour we will stride out, aiming to cover about 3 miles. This is an exercise session for those used to using their Nordic Walking Poles with the correct technique. Although you may feel your heart beating a bit faster and your breathing a bit deeper, there will be plenty of opportunity to chat with your fellow walkers and take note of the countryside we are walking through.
